Remember that cheesy-but-fun 3 Ninjas Kick Back movie from the '90s? This SNES game is basically that, but with more jumping on rooftops and throwing shurikens at guys in weird masks. You pick one of the three ninja brothers (Rocky, Colt, or Tum Tum—yes, really) to help an old samurai get his stolen dagger back.
It’s your standard side-scrolling beat-em-up, but with some sneaky platforming—you’ll be climbing ropes, ducking under traps, and occasionally getting knocked into pits by enemies who absolutely did not hold back on the difficulty. Each ninja handles a little differently—Tum Tum’s my go-to because his attacks feel chunkier, but good luck if you pick Colt and realize too late his moves are weirdly floaty.
Boss fights are exactly as over-the-top as you’d hope, complete with dramatic pauses and health bars that take forever to whittle down. Just don’t expect the plot to make much sense if you haven’t seen the movie. The old man really wants that dagger back.
