You play as Yakumo, this guy stuck with Pai, an immortal girl who’s basically a walking target for demons. The whole thing plays like a side-scroller with RPG bits, so you’re slashing through creepy monsters one minute and leveling up spells the next.
The atmosphere is what really gets me—gritty streets, gothic temples, and this soundtrack that sounds like it’s straight out of a horror movie. Combat’s brutal (expect to die a lot), but pulling off a perfectly timed fire spell or finally beating that one boss after ten tries? Pure satisfaction.
