Game Overview

Playing Aladdin on MS-DOS feels like jumping straight into the movie—you start off dodging guards on Agrabah’s rooftops, then end up sneaking through the Cave of Wonders or getting tossed into the Sultan’s dungeon. The guards are annoying, but the scorpions and bats? Somehow worse.

You’ve got two ways to fight: slashing with your scimitar (which actually blocks arrows if you time it right) or chucking apples. Apples are limited, though, so you’ll hoard them like treasure until you really need one. The gems you collect aren’t just for show—trade them to a sketchy-looking peddler for extra lives when you inevitably fall into a pit or get jumped by a sword guy.

The best part? Random Genie or Abu bonus rounds pop up if you find their icons. The Genie one’s pure luck—spin a wheel for gems, apples, or an instant death by Jafar. Abu’s is chaos: you’re a monkey catching falling treasure while avoiding pots like they’re lava. It’s janky in that classic DOS way, but it’s weirdly charming once you get into it.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
