Game Overview

So, Altered Beast—this NES classic starts with Zeus literally yanking you out of the grave to go save his daughter. Yeah, no warm-up. Suddenly you're punching skeletons in some misty Greek ruins, and honestly? Your basic moves feel a little stiff at first. But then you kill these weird two-headed wolves, they drop these glowing orbs, and boom—you transform into a werewolf with claws that actually feel powerful. That's when it clicks.

Each level gives you a new beast form (dragon, bear, etc.), and they're not just reskins—the dragon can fly, the bear smashes through enemies like they're paper. It's clunky by today's standards, but there's something satisfying about charging through zombies as a hulking monster. Also, the co-op mode is chaotic fun—just don't blame me when you and your friend keep accidentally punching each other instead of the bosses.
