Game Overview

VIRUS (or Zarch, depending on who you ask) is that weirdly addictive lander game that used to sneak its way into school computer labs back in the day. You know the one—where you'd try to gently drop this little ship onto platforms without exploding, while the teacher wasn't paying attention. The full version here is way more polished than the demo that came bundled with old Acorn Archimedes machines, with smoother controls and extra challenges.

It's one of those games that feels simple at first—just land, right?—but then you realize how much finesse it takes when your thrusters overheat or the gravity suddenly yanks you sideways. The physics were surprisingly ahead of their time for MS-DOS, and even now, there's something satisfying about nailing a perfect touchdown after botching it five times in a row.

Honestly, it's a shame this didn't blow up bigger back then. If you like old-school precision games with a bit of janky charm, this one's worth dusting off.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
