Lobo was supposed to be this wild cyberpunk action game for the Genesis, but it never actually made it to store shelves—some licensing drama, I think. What’s left is this rough but fascinating prototype where you play as a bounty hunter in a neon-drenched city, blasting robots and dodging lasers. The controls feel a little stiff now, but the pixel art has this grimy, rain-soaked charm that makes you wish they’d finished it properly.

You start off in some back alley with a gun that sounds like it’s firing tin cans, and within minutes you’re jumping between rooftops while drones try to snipe you. It’s janky in that classic early ‘90s way, but there’s something weirdly compelling about playing a game that time forgot.
